On the morning of October 28, after Storm Trami dissipated, the waves along Nguyen Tat Thanh Beach (near Phu Loc Bridge, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang) brought a large number of green mussels, clams, and cockles ashore.

Dozens of locals gathered on the beach with baskets, bags, and other containers to collect this unexpected bounty, with green mussels being the most abundant. Hearing about the shellfish washed ashore, residents from nearby areas joined the gathering, even calling friends and family to come and collect the fresh catch. Within a short time, each person could gather several kilograms of green mussels.

Nguyen Van Hung, a resident of Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, shared, “In just 15 minutes, I collected over 2 kilograms of green mussels. There are so many washed ashore today; some early arrivals managed to collect dozens of kilograms. This is the first time I’ve seen so many mussels here. They’re delicious, so we’re bringing them home to eat rather than sell.”

Hoang Thi Linh from Thanh Khe District said, “I’m not sure where all these mussels, clams, and cockles came from, but they’re here in abundance. When I arrived, there were already many people gathering green mussels and clams.”
