Police confirm that 176 individuals had worked for scam companies in Cambodia.

Among the 177 returnees, authorities found that 176 had been working in fraudulent companies based in Cambodia.

These individuals were involved in online scams operated from Building 11, Kim Sa 4 Area, Bavet Border Gate, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia. The scams included online gambling applications, fake investment platforms (such as "Vin Group investment apps"), romance scams, and fraudulent stock trading apps.

Additionally, out of the 177 returnees, 48 had legally exited Vietnam, while 129 had crossed the border illegally. Only one person among them was a delivery worker (shipper).

To verify identities, authorities ran checks using the BKCAID national citizen database, which flagged six individuals with no records, one person providing false personal information, and one mistaken identity case involving a name match with a wanted individual.

Vietnamese officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these scam operations and will take further legal action against those involved.
