SHB Bank has awarded Coach Kim Sang Sik and the Vietnamese national football team bonuses totaling 1 billion VND (approximately $40,800) following their championship victory at the 2024 ASEAN Cup (AFF Cup).
Before the match between Hanoi FC and Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) in the 11th round of the LPBank V-League 2024/25, Do Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of SHB’s Board of Directors, presented a Tet bonus of 500 million VND (about $20,400) to Coach Kim Sang Sik and an additional 500 million VND to the Vietnamese national team in recognition of their ASEAN Cup triumph.
With this latest reward, SHB has now contributed a total of 7.4 billion VND (approximately $302,000) in bonuses to the national team and its members. Earlier, SHB and T&T Group awarded 2 billion VND to the national team and 4.4 billion VND to ten players from Hanoi FC and the CAHN Football Club.
Individual player bonuses
The rewarded players include Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Nguyen Hai Long, Pham Xuan Manh, and Pham Tuan Hai from Hanoi FC, along with Nguyen Quang Hai and Vu Van Thanh from CAHN, each receiving 500 million VND.
Three additional players - Nguyen Filip, Le Pham Thanh Long, and Bui Hoang Viet Anh - were awarded 300 million VND each.
Vice Chairman Do Quang Vinh expressed SHB’s pride in supporting the national team, highlighting their efforts to organize eight charter flights for 600 Vietnamese fans to attend the second-leg final in Thailand.
Receiving this meaningful Tet bonus, Coach Kim Sang Sik shared his appreciation: "I am deeply grateful for this reward. I will continue to give my best to contribute to Vietnamese football."
In total, the Vietnamese national team has received more than 40 billion VND (approximately $1.6 million) in bonuses from various sponsors following their ASEAN Cup victory. Individual players have also been awarded substantial bonuses from benefactors and sponsors, with the coaching staff now overseeing the distribution of rewards.
