Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh said that the establishment of the DSAC is one of activities to concretise the city's political determination in implementing urgent tasks and the city's strategy on developing integrated circuit (IC) design and artificial intelligence.
He said the centre will carry out research and design training activities in the fields of microchips, semiconductors and AI development as well as engage in technology transfer and international cooperation in the fields.
It is tasked with coordinating with relevant establishments in developing training programmes and materials and organising training courses, as well as providing consultation and technology transfer services.
On the occasion, the municipal People’s Committee also held a seminar on the city’s policies to catch investment waves in semiconductor and AI and orientations for human resources development in the field.
According to market researchers Technavio, the semiconductor market in Vietnam is estimated to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.5% between 2021 and 2025. /.VNA
