Update news Eco-industrial parks
Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee, Becamex IDC Corporation, the World Bank (WB) and relevant units held a workshop to kick off a feasibility study of the Eco-Industrial Park on February 14 in the province.
The development of eco-industrial parks is not an easy task when there are many obstacles in terms of mechanism, determination and participation of enterprises, experts have said.
Vietnam aims to become a developed country by 2045 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050. It is considered an ambitious goal but also a challenge for a developing country like Vietnam.
Vietnam will continue to encourage investors to both develop eco-IPs and transition from traditional to ecological ones, which is set to contribute to the national target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Developing eco-industrial parks is among important programmes within the Switzerland’s cooperation and development framework for Vietnam, Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Beatrice Maser Mallor said.
