Goalkeeper Quan Van Chuan is one of the most notable players among those born in 2001. He helped the U23 Vietnam team win the 2022 ASEAN U23 Championship, was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper, and was included in the tournament's best XI. In addition, he helped the U22 Vietnam team secure a gold medal at the 31st SEA Games.
During the 2023/24 season, Van Chuan started 12 matches for Hanoi FC. This season, he and Van Hoang have been rotating as goalkeepers for the capital's team.

On the defense line, Phan Tuan Tai is another standout player from the 2001 generation. The player from Dak Lak is frequently called up to the U23 Vietnam team. He helped Vietnam win the 2022 ASEAN U23 Championship, the gold medal at the 2022 SEA Games, and the bronze medal in 2023.
At the continental level, Tuan Tai participated in the 2022 AFC U23 Championship, where he scored one goal and provided an assist to help U23 Vietnam reach the quarter-finals.

Under Coach Troussier, Tuan Tai has frequently been given opportunities to play for the national team. As of now, he has earned 18 caps for Vietnam.
In 2024, when Coach Kim Sang Sik was in charge of the national team, Tuan Tai lost his place, but he remains determined to return to the national team in 2025.
Similar to Tuan Tai, Vo Minh Trong is another talented young player in Vietnam football. His notable achievements include winning a SEA Games bronze medal in 2023 and the 2022 ASEAN U23 Championship title.

With the Vietnam national team, Minh Trong has made 10 appearances and was once expected to become one of the best left-backs in Vietnam under Coach Troussier.
Now in the Year of the Snake and entering the prime of his career, Minh Trong will surely seize every opportunity to prove his worth, hoping to return to the national team soon.
Although the generation of footballers born in the Year of the Snake may not have many star players, most of them are hardworking and continuously improving themselves. Among them, Le Van Do rose through the renowned PVF training academy and played for PVF-CAND from 2019 to 2021. He then moved to SHB Da Nang and is now playing for Hanoi Police FC (CAHN).

In the 2024/25 V-League season, Van Do frequently plays for CAHN. In the two previous seasons, he helped his team win the V-League championship.
While playing for U23 Vietnam, Van Do won the gold medal at the 31st SEA Games, then went on to win the bronze at the 32nd SEA Games. At the national level, Van Do was named in the Vietnam squad for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup but did not make the final cut.
Another 2001-born player, Van Toan, made 14 appearances in the 2023 season, helping CAHN win the championship. Van Toan was also part of the U23 Vietnam team that won the 2022 ASEAN U23 Championship.
In June 2023, Van Toan received his first call-up to the national team and made his debut in a 1-0 friendly victory against Syria at the Thien Truong Stadium in Nam Dinh.


At the striker position, Van Tung is the most highly-rated player among those born in 2001. The Hanoi FC player won the 2022 ASEAN U23 Championship with U23 Vietnam, took gold at the 31st SEA Games, and bronze at the 32nd SEA Games. Van Tung was called up to the Vietnam national team for the first time in 2023 for friendlies against Hong Kong (China) and Syria.
Although playing in a position with stiff competition, particularly from foreign players, Van Tung has the potential to achieve his goals in 2025 with effort and a bit of luck.
