The Hanoi Party Committee has issued an action plan to implement the Politburo's Resolution on directions and tasks to develop the capital until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Accordingly, Hanoi will promote the development of a synchronous and modern transport system associated with urban development. The city will complete the construction of national highways, expressways and 7 ring roads.
The 7 ring roads are planned with a total length of 285km, of which over 132km have been completed.

Hanoi will also promote the development of a system of inner-region and inter-region.
The city will build more bridges across the Red and Duong rivers. Particularly, the city will build 10 more bridges across the Red River, including: Me So, Hong Ha, New Thang Long, Tu Lien, Vinh Tuy (phase 2), Thuong Cat, Ngoc Hoi, Tran Hung Dao, Phu Xuyen, and Van Phuc.
Hanoi will expand and upgrade the Noi Bai international airport and consider the construction of another international airport to meet the development requirements of the capital city and the Northern region in association with the construction of a modern transport system and logistics infrastructure.
The city targets to start construction of one more urban railway line from now to 2025, to put into operation 2-3 urban railway lines and complete 50% of the urban railway system by 2030.
At present, there are 7 bridges across the Red River, namely Long Bien, Chuong Duong, Thanh Tri, Vinh Tuy, Thang Long, Nhat Tan and Vinh Thinh.
Quang Phong
