Director of the HCM City Department of Information and Communications Lam Dinh Thang said positive changes had occurred over the last year in digital transformation in the city. 

The city has applied technologies in the public sector. In the judicial field, for example, there are four types of civil status records that can be implemented from anywhere, and do not depend on citizens' residences. 

Switchboard 1022 can handle people’s reports in real time. The dashboard system helps municipal authorities make decisions based on data. 

In 2023, the city aims to fulfill important goals in digital data. People communicating on the public service portal will just have to provide information once. 

State agencies, with the information collected, can make decisions based on data and real time. And the authorities will have a treatment system to minimize the number of manually made reports.

In terms of AI applications, the city has deployed several apps in the city. District 1, for example, has applied electronic identification. The city police have applied AI cameras in security supervision, while the city People’s Council has tools to shorten the time needed for examinations, and many wards now use chatbots and callbots to answer people’s questions.

HCM City Vice Mayor Duong Anh Duc said that AI is one of the most important tools to remove obstacles in large urban areas such as HCM City. 

In 2023, the city needs to pay attention to administrative reform and promote investment in security and social safety. One of the focuses is speeding up digital transformation and the application of high technologies and AI to improve management quality.

HCM City has many large education organizations, powerful enterprises and resources, which should be exploited for further development.

The city will focus on solving three problems. First, human resources, both for the short and long term. Second, hardware and software infrastructure to build data. It is also necessary to identify problems during the process of regulating the city and call on institutions to solve them.
