After seven years of construction, Ben Thanh Station is complete, featuring four underground levels, measuring 236 meters in length, 60 meters in width, and 32 meters in depth. It is the largest of the 14 stations on the line and will serve as a future connection hub for other metro lines.
A standout feature of the station is its lotus-shaped skylight, which stands 6 meters tall with a diameter of 21.6 meters, designed to bring natural light into the underground levels.
The station’s first level, covering approximately 45,000 square meters, includes commercial centers, corridors, an underground plaza, ticket vending machines, a main hall, and entry checkpoints.
The second level, designated for passenger boarding, has directional signs, signal lights, seating areas, route maps, and other amenities such as restrooms, all fully installed.
Located near Ben Thanh Station, Opera House Station stretches 190 meters in length and 26 meters in width, with four underground levels.
The first level offers passenger services, including waiting areas, ticket vending machines, automatic fare gates, and restrooms.
The ticket inspection area has two entrances divided into 16 lanes, including four wider lanes for individuals with disabilities. Nearby are ticket offices, security monitoring rooms, and staff workstations.
The design incorporates automated ticket vending machines for passengers' convenience.
Opera House Station currently has a team of 27 personnel, with Ben Thanh and Ba Son Stations staffed by 23 and 24 employees, respectively.
The station's ceiling and surrounding areas reflect architectural elements reminiscent of the Opera House above ground.
Ba Son Station is the smallest of the three underground stations, featuring two levels, spanning 240 meters in length, over 34 meters in width, and 20 meters in depth.
The ceiling design is adorned with white steel patterns shaped like flowing waves, symbolizing the Saigon River.
The floors are tiled with decorative cement tiles, with yellow paths dedicated to individuals with disabilities.
Ba Son Station features 4-meter-wide hallways and walls with openings designed for advertising displays.
It is the last underground station before the metro transitions to the elevated section.
Metro Line 1, connecting Ben Thanh Station to Long Binh Depot (Thu Duc City), spans nearly 20 kilometers with a total investment of over VND 43.7 trillion. In addition to the three underground stations, the project includes 11 elevated stations. Commercial operations are set to begin on December 22.
