This is only the second time the cathedral has been decorated for Christmas since its restoration work began in 2017.

This year marks the first time the cathedral has fully illuminated its structure. Last Christmas, only the twin bell towers were lit, using 80,000 meters of LED lights.
Kim Ngan, who visited with friends, shared her excitement: “When I saw pictures online, I knew I had to come. The cathedral is even more stunning in person, and the crowd reflects just how much people love it here.”
The ongoing major restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral began on July 1, 2017, and is still in progress. Despite this, Christmas celebrations at the cathedral continue as usual. Masses will be held on December 24 and 25, drawing thousands of worshippers and visitors.
