With thousands of AI tools available, selecting the right one is a daunting task for both businesses and individuals. Many tools offer similar features, making it difficult to find a solution that truly meets user needs.
Hoang Hung, a small business owner in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his frustration with the overwhelming number of AI tools on the market. Concerned about missing out on the AI revolution, he experimented with various tools but struggled to find one that was both cost-effective and useful for his business.
Similarly, Nguyen Thi Van, a teacher in Ho Chi Minh City, sought an AI tool to enhance her lesson planning. However, she found that many tools advertised for education did not meet her needs, and in some cases, manual preparation was faster than using AI.
According to Dang Huu Son, co-founder of LovinBot, AI tool inflation has led to redundancy in the market. Many AI tools differ only in appearance but serve the same function, creating a saturation of similar solutions without true innovation.
This issue is particularly evident in education and finance, where specialized AI tools remain scarce. To navigate this crowded market, Son suggests a simple formula: Primary Need + Key Features – Barriers (Cost + Complexity) = Ideal Tool.
For instance, those needing basic image generation can opt for DALL·E 3, which is affordable and user-friendly. However, professionals requiring high-end studio-quality visuals with consistent character design might prefer Midjourney, which offers advanced features but comes at a higher cost and complexity.
Do Thanh Ha, Business Development Director at AIcontent, advises businesses to identify their primary AI application - whether for marketing, customer service, data analysis, or automation. Key factors to consider include accuracy, efficiency, flexibility, user-friendliness, integration capabilities, and return on investment (ROI).
For individual users, Ha recommends assessing accuracy, ease of use, and cost, determining whether free versions suffice or if paid tools provide better value.
Vu Thanh Tung, Business and Product Development Director at GreenNode (VNG), emphasizes that AI selection ultimately depends on leadership priorities.
While many companies prioritize affordability and ease of use, larger enterprises may be willing to invest in riskier but more powerful AI solutions if they yield greater benefits.
