The Party Central Committee has reviewed leadership candidates for key state agencies during the 2021–2026 term.

This marks a critical step for the Politburo to officially present nominees to the National Assembly for election and ratification, in accordance with regulations.

Discussions on key matters

On January 24, the Party Central Committee continued its discussions, chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, focusing on four key topics:

Report on Resolution No. 18: Evaluating the restructuring of the political system to enhance its efficiency and streamline operations.

Review of Politburo and Secretariat leadership in 2024: Analyzing their performance, accountability, and internal assessments.

2025 socio-economic development proposal: Setting a target of achieving at least 8% economic growth.

Mid-term review of the 10-year socio-economic strategy (2021–2030): Outlining a roadmap for 2026–2030, aiming for double-digit growth rates annually.

The Politburo and Secretariat also reviewed feedback from the Central Committee on these issues, presented by Permanent Secretariat member Tran Cam Tu and First Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.

Key personnel decisions

The Party Central Committee discussed leadership appointments for state agencies during the 2021–2026 term. These deliberations resulted in the approval of several personnel recommendations:

Appointments: Three individuals were elected to join the Central Inspection Committee, one was promoted to Chair of the committee, one new member was added to the Politburo, and another to the Secretariat.

Resignation: One individual was relieved of their position in the Central Committee due to disciplinary violations.

These decisions aim to strengthen the Party’s leadership, enhance supervisory functions, and prepare for the upcoming 14th National Congress.

Closing remarks from the General Secretary

In his closing address, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the Party’s unity and determination in steering Vietnam toward a new era of development.

He praised the Politburo and Secretariat for their bold vision, innovative thinking, and pragmatic leadership, which have fostered trust within the Party and society at large.

The personnel decisions and organizational reforms are expected to bolster the Party’s oversight capabilities and support the restructuring of state agencies, ensuring effective governance in the coming years.

“Finalizing the leadership structure and introducing qualified candidates to the National Assembly will ensure the new system operates efficiently, meeting the nation’s developmental needs,” General Secretary To Lam stated.
