Offering sky high bidding prices at land auctions but later giving up the deals even after making a deposit is a trick played by real estate speculators to push market prices up.
Eighty percent of investors gave up after winning land auctions in Hanoi in a recent month, which showed that most of the bidding buyers were speculators who did not have real demand for accommodations.
