More than 31,000 Vietnamese students are pursuing education in the United States, with a significant concentration in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
This data was shared during the International Education Week, held from November 18–22 in Hanoi.
According to the Open Doors Report by the Institute of International Education (IIE), the number of Vietnamese students at universities and colleges in the US continues to grow, reaching 22,066 students in the 2023–2024 academic year.
Including all levels of study, the total number exceeds 31,000 students, making Vietnam the leading ASEAN country in terms of students studying in the US.
Notably, nearly 50% of Vietnamese students in the US are enrolled in STEM fields, supporting Vietnam's goals to develop a skilled workforce for high-tech industries.
