The Prime Minister has directed provinces and centrally governed cities to independently organize New Year (Tet) celebrations, including fireworks displays, without using state budgets.
This approach aims to create a lively, festive atmosphere while ensuring safety, thrift, and adherence to regulations.
Local authorities are instructed to:
Avoid using public funds, assets, or facilities for unauthorized purposes, including fireworks or celebratory events.
Prohibit the practice of gifting, especially for officials at higher levels, during the New Year period.
Ensure public safety by discouraging drinking alcohol while driving and avoiding superstitious practices.
Restrict government officials to attending public religious or festive events only if assigned.
The directive also bans central government delegations from visiting or congratulating local authorities during Tet.
The Prime Minister emphasized that all officials must resume work promptly after the Tet holiday, focusing on key priorities, including implementing measures to streamline government operations as outlined in Resolution No. 18.
This approach reflects the government’s commitment to responsible spending and efficient governance while fostering public enjoyment during the New Year.
