General Secretary To Lam emphasized that, to successfully implement Resolution No. 57, members of the Politburo and the Secretariat must take the lead in updating their knowledge in new, complex, and rapidly evolving fields.
According to the Vietnam News Agency, the Politburo and the Secretariat convened today to hear a presentation and provide feedback on a specialized report focused on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
The meeting was chaired by General Secretary To Lam and attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and other members of the Politburo and the Secretariat.
Following the presentation, General Secretary To Lam underscored that this meeting served as a concrete action demonstrating the Party and State’s highest determination to realize the objectives of Resolution No. 57, which addresses national breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
He stressed that for the successful leadership and implementation of this resolution, members of the Politburo and the Secretariat must pioneer in equipping themselves with knowledge in new and challenging fields that change rapidly.
According to the General Secretary, the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation is not optional - it is the only path forward to propel the country’s development and improve the quality of life for its citizens.

Going forward, efforts must focus on two key objectives: improving social governance and applying innovations to production in order to boost labor productivity.
So far, digital tools have mostly been applied in public governance, with less emphasis on transforming the production sector. The General Secretary pointed out that private enterprises have been particularly agile in adopting new technologies, implementing them with flexibility and effectiveness to improve corporate governance, data management, and productivity. This responsiveness should be closely studied and expanded to other sectors.
During the meeting, Politburo and Secretariat members contributed additional input to help refine the report on breakthrough development in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
In his concluding remarks, General Secretary To Lam stressed that the thematic report was vital in deepening understanding and strengthening implementation of Resolution No. 57.
He asked the Party Committee of the Government to incorporate feedback from Politburo and Secretariat members into the final report, which will serve as a key resource for the upcoming 11th Plenum of the Party Central Committee, as scheduled.
The report must reflect global trends in science, technology, digital transformation, and innovation, while clearly identifying concrete issues and actionable solutions. It should avoid generalities and instead build consensus in understanding and action to harness the full strength of the entire political system.
General Secretary To Lam tasked the Office of the Party Central Committee - the standing body of the Central Steering Committee on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation - with integrating suggestions from the meeting to refine programs and action plans that will ensure effective implementation of Resolution No. 57.
