Vietnam welcomed 259,357 RoK visitors in April, followed by China (111,903), Taiwan (61,606), and the United States (56,240), said VNAT.
The RoK was also the largest supplier of travelers to Vietnam in the first four months, at nearly 1.1 million, followed by the US (263,000) and China (252,000).
Markets that saw high growth in visitor numbers in April compared to March 2023 include New Zealand (up 67%), China (up 61%), Cambodia (up 56%), Taiwan (up 48%), Laos (up 36%), the Philippines (up 35%), Australia (up 34%), Switzerland (up 34%), Spain (up 29%), and the UK (up 21%).
However, some international tourist markets witnessing a downward trend from the previous month include Malaysia (down 20%), Finland (down 19%), Sweden (down 14%), Canada (down 14%), and Indonesia (down 11%).
Overall, Vietnam recorded 984,146 foreign arrivals in April, up 10% compared to March.
Meanwhile, the General Statistics Office of Vietnam announced in late AApril that Vietnam received approximately 3.7 million foreign tourists in the first four months of the year, a figure 19.2 times higher than that of the same period last year, and meeting 46% of the target set for 2023.
Vietnam aims to welcome eight million foreign visitors this year.
