Van Tung broke the deadlock in the 36th minute with a decisive finish in the near corner, giving Vietnam ahead.
Several minutes later, Thai Son Thai Son finished at a close distance, the ball hit the foot of a Singapore defender and changed direction into the back of the net, extending Vietnam’s lead.
After the interval, U22 Vietnam missed many scoring opportunities, but they almost paid the price when defenders played without concentration.
In the 80th minute, Van Khang’s finish prompted Ilhan Noor to score an own goal, bringing the third goal for U22 Vietnam.
However, U22 Singapore earned a goal from defender Tien Long’s own goal in the last minute of injury time.
With two wining matches, U22 Vietnam now lead Group B in men’s football at SEA Games 32.
