Shunsin Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Taiwanese tech giant Foxconn, is applying for an environmental permit for its 80 million USD chip manufacturing project in the northern province of Bac Giang.
Vietnam is drawing up a list of incentives for chip companies, ranging from tax breaks to fast-track export processes, as the country draws increasing attention from global players such as Nvidia and Besi.
According to the Nikkei Asia, the availability of tech workers in a time of shortage could help Vietnam achieve one of its long-held dreams: moving up the tech value chain.
Vietnam is taking steps to actualize the strategy on becoming an important link in the global semiconductor chip supply chain.
