According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF), by 7:00 PM on November 19, the center of the tropical depression was located over the western part of the North East Sea. The maximum sustained winds near its center reached level 7 (50–61 km/h), with gusts up to level 9. It is moving southwest at a speed of 20 km/h.
Forecasts suggest the tropical depression will continue its southwestward trajectory and weaken further into a low-pressure area overnight, likely dissipating by early morning on November 20.
The tropical depression’s impact has caused strong winds (levels 6–7, gusting to level 9) and high waves (3–5 meters) in the western area of the North East Sea, including the northern waters around the Hoang Sa Archipelago.
Mariners operating in these areas are advised to exercise caution, as they may encounter strong winds and large waves.
