With the release of 2024 business reports, listed real estate companies have also disclosed executive salaries. Some top leaders are earning over a billion VND per month, while others have had to lend money to their struggling companies.

Top earners in the real estate sector

At Phat Dat Corporation (HoSE: PDR), the executive payroll in Q4 2024 exceeded 6.3 billion VND. The company’s highest-paid executive was CEO Bui Quang Anh Vu, earning nearly 2 billion VND (approximately 500 million VND per month), an increase of nearly 600 million VND compared to the previous year.

Before the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025, Mr. Anh Vu earned 14.3 billion VND by selling 1.43 million PDR shares. Chairman Nguyen Van Dat ranked second with an annual salary of 1.1 billion VND.

Despite ongoing business challenges, some Novaland (HoSE: NVL) executives still received salary increases. Chairman Bui Thanh Nhon earned 1.2 billion VND, up 100 million VND from 2023.

Former CEO Dennis Ng Teck Yow saw his salary rise from 3.3 billion VND in 2023 to 4.3 billion VND in 2024. The second highest-paid executive at Novaland was CEO & CFO Duong Van Bac, whose salary increased from 1.6 billion VND to 2.6 billion VND.

One of the most financially stable real estate firms, Nam Long Group (HoSE: NLG), reported a 73% increase in post-tax profits, reaching 1.381 trillion VND in 2024. The company allocated 56 billion VND for executive salaries.

Nam Long’s highest-paid executive was CEO Lucas Loh, earning nearly 12 billion VND (1 billion VND per month). Former Nam Long Land CEO Van Viet Son, who was dismissed in September 2024, ranked second, while Chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang earned 4.6 billion VND.

Executives lending money to their companies

At Dat Xanh Group (HoSE: DXG), the executive salary fund dropped to 10.2 billion VND in 2024. CEO Bui Ngoc Duc had the highest income, earning 4.1 billion VND (342 million VND per month).

Meanwhile, Thuduc House (HoSE: TDH) has faced turmoil, with all board members resigning following a series of legal and financial issues. The company has been struggling since an electronic smuggling case and a 100-billion-VND tax enforcement lawsuit by the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department.

Thuduc House’s executive salary fund increased by 1.8 billion VND compared to 2023. Former CEO Nguyen Hai Long, who stepped down in November 2024, was the highest earner, making nearly 2 billion VND. Second was Vo Thi Tuong Vy, who resigned from her board member and audit committee chair roles in December 2024, earning 642 million VND.

In a unique case, An Gia Group (HoSE: AGG)'s highest-paid executive was not the CEO but Chairman Nguyen Ba Sang, who earned 2.3 billion VND, a fourfold increase from 2023. CEO Nguyen Thanh Son earned 1.3 billion VND.

Quoc Cuong Gia Lai (HoSE: QCG) faced a turbulent year as former CEO Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan encountered legal issues. In the first half of 2024, the company’s highest-paid executive was Chief Accountant Pham Hoang Phuong, earning 184 million VND (30.6 million VND per month).

Following Nhu Loan were Chairman Lai The Ha, each earning 66 million VND (11 million VND per month).

After Nguyen Quoc Cuong (also known as Cuong "Dola") took over as CEO in July 2024, the Nhu Loan family lent over 80 billion VND to Quoc Cuong Gia Lai.
