Tran Quoc Tuan, president of the VFF, confirmed that the nation began preparations for the event from August this year and hosting the important event has helped the international community gain a greater understanding of Vietnamese football, culture, and people.
The event provides an opportunity for the federation’s members to exchange and build plans for the overall development of Southeast Asian football.
Delegates from the world’s football governing body FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) are expected to participate in the meeting.
Furthermore, sports marketing agency Sportfive, along with some guests from the German, Belgian, and Dutch football federations, will attend the event.
The AFF was first established in Jakarta in January, 1984, with the very first meeting taking place from January 31, 1984, to February 1, 1984. Vietnam later joined the AFF in 1996.
