The Ao Dai pieces were modeled by both Vietnamese and Swedish models, showcasing the blend of cultural heritage to an international audience. "I wanted to introduce Vietnam’s millennia-long history of nation-building to international friends, especially to the people of Sweden, through the traditional Ao Dai," Thoa shared, adding that she sought advice from Professor Le Van Lan to ensure the historical accuracy of her designs.
“Sacred Origins” is another of Thoa’s masterpieces, developed over the course of a year and inspired by the image of the dragon - a symbol of power and fortune. The intricate designs featured hours of craftsmanship, with artisans spending hundreds of hours hand-embroidering, beading, and gilding the Ao Dai with gold leaf.
"The entire process is done by hand. I want international friends to better understand Vietnam's traditional culture through these designs," the designer expressed.
Thoa’s Ao Dai collections continue to shine as an elegant expression of Vietnamese culture, captivating global audiences while preserving the nation’s rich history and traditions.
