According to Buddhism, lion is the embodiment of intellectual power, but with stars on the body, the stone lions of the Ba Tam pagoda-temple also have the meaning of carrying the moving sky.

A pair of stone lion statues at Ba Tam pagoda-temple complex is a symbol of the pinnacle of stone carving technique during the Ly Dynasty, showing the skillfulness and high aesthetic sense of artisans.

Thirty-two sculpture artists from Hanoi and HCM City will showcase their works at an exhibition in the centre of Hanoi from Friday to October 18.

Hanoi Vincom Centre for Contemporary Art is playing host to the sixth Hanoi-Saigon Sculpture Exhibition, with more than 60 outstanding contemporary artworks produced by 32 artists from the country’s two largest cities going on display.

Artist Lap Phuong is displaying sculptures at her first solo exhibition entitled Âm Dương (Yin and Yang). 

 Belgium sculptor Fabian Saeren won top prize at the International Sculpture Symposium, which closed yesterday in HCM City.
