Vietnam U22 will face China, South Korea, and Uzbekistan at the CFA Team China 2025 friendly tournament.

According to the official match schedule released by the host nation, Vietnam U22 will face South Korea U22 on March 20, Uzbekistan U22 on March 23, and China U22 on March 25 in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, China.

This tournament serves as a valuable preparation opportunity for Vietnam’s U22 squad ahead of the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers in September and SEA Games 33 at the end of the year.

At the CFA Team China 2024 international tournament held in Hunan last September, Vietnam U22, under the leadership of coach Dinh Hong Vinh, finished third after securing a 2-1 victory over Malaysia, but suffering a 0-2 defeat to Uzbekistan and a 1-2 loss to China.

For this year’s competition, Vietnam U22 will train in Hanoi during FIFA Days in March, alongside the senior national team before traveling to China.

As head coach Kim Sang Sik will be occupied with the Vietnam national team’s preparations for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers against Laos and a friendly match against Cambodia, he will delegate U22 coaching responsibilities to his assistant staff.

Regarding squad selection, Kim Sang Sik has called up Vietnam’s strongest U22 lineup, featuring key players such as Thai Son, Khuat Khang, Bui Vi Hao, Nguyen Quoc Viet, Nguyen Dinh Bac, and Le Nguyen Hoang.

Additionally, several overseas Vietnamese players may be included in the squad as part of the coach’s broader strategic plans.
