Tuan Thanh, 26, a native of the northern coastal city of Quang Ninh, has lived in Vung Tau City (Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province) for over 10 years. He usually spends his weekend mornings driving a motorbike around the city to take pictures.

"I have enjoyed this passion ever since I was a student. At the time, I frequently carried my cellphone with me and took photographs everywhere, from well-known locations to hidden gems even the locals did not know,” he said.
Since then, he has become a local of this seaside city.

"I feel full of enthusiasm when I breathe in the crisp morning air, watch the sun slowly rise, and gaze at fresh views via the camera lens," Thanh said.

Thanh said that at first he did not like the temperature and environment of Vung Tau since it was hot and lacked the four distinct seasons of the North. But over time, he recognized this city’s attractiveness from every aspect and every season, with its three sides bordering the sea, its mountains, and forests. He also discovered that the city's autumn and autumn in the North share many similarities.

"During that time, the leaves turn from green to a pale yellow color, rainfall is less. The southwest monsoon decreases as the season's first cold air from the North influences the weather, which is rather cool. The scene is also more lovely and distinctive, and the sun isn't too harsh," Thanh said.

This is also the time when Thanh takes his camera around the city to “hunt” for the best pictures of Vung Tau.

Thanh offered advice for those who plan a trip to Vung Tau: "Wake up early between 4:30 and 5 am if you want to see the sunrise in Vung Tau. Bai Sau beach, Nghinh Phong Cape, and Con Heo hill are among the gorgeous dawn locations. Visitors who want to see the sunset should head to Bai Truoc, Bai Dau, Tran Phu Street, and the lighthouse atop Nho (Small) Mountain."
