Update news wage reforms
Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing to adjust the regional minimum wage in 2025, considering changes in administrative divisions. The increase is expected to align with workers' living costs.
Higher wages are needed to attract and retain employees working for the public sector in Vietnam who are lagging way behind their peers in many Southeast Asian countries in terms of income.
Vietnam is set to increase the base wage from July 2023.
A move to increase the base salary for civil servants is necessary to raise the standard of living conditions for Vietnamese people.
