Preparations have been completed in all constituencies nationwide for over 69 million voters to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and all-level People’s Councils for the 2021 - 2026 tenure on May 23.
All localities across the country have been ready for the general election, an important political event of the country which is slated for May 23, said Bui Van Cuong, General Secretary of the National Assembly and Chairman of the NA Office.
The first session of the 15th National Assembly is scheduled to open on July 20, as heard at the 55th meeting of the 14th NA Standing Committee on April 27.
Consultative conferences have been held three times to select virtuous and talented candidates running for seats in the National Assembly in a democratic fashion and in line with existing regulations.
There are 77 self-nominated candidates for the National Assembly in 24 provinces and cities, including 30 people in Hanoi and 16 in Ho Chi Minh City.
