The Best Western Premier Sapphire Ha Long, a renowned 5-star hotel with over 1,000 rooms, will cease operations in Ha Long City starting April 1.

The hotel’s official website recently posted an announcement regarding its closure, stating that it will officially stop operating from the beginning of April.

According to Best Western Premier Sapphire Ha Long, customers with reservations will receive full support regarding their bookings.

Speaking with VietNamNet, a representative of the Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism confirmed they had previously received a report on the hotel’s planned closure.

The hotel, which was developed by DOJILAND Real Estate Investment Co., Ltd., had signed a five-year management contract with the internationally renowned Best Western hotel group.

With the expiration of this contract, the property will now be returned to DOJILAND for reevaluation and the development of a new business strategy.

For guests who have booked stays beyond April 1, Best Western will offer financial compensation and assist in arranging equivalent accommodations at other hotels in Ha Long City.

"Some hotel staff will be retained by the investor when a new business model is finalized. The remaining employees will receive financial support during their job search. The hotel signage will also be removed shortly after operations cease," said a representative from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The hotel is part of a high-end condominium complex with 1,005 units. These units were sold to individual buyers once the property became eligible for transactions. The owners then entered into business cooperation agreements with the building’s operating unit.
