Vietnamese women's volleyball powerhouse VTV Binh Dien Long An is setting its sights on the 2025 AVC Champions League with a major reinforcement strategy - aiming to secure top talents like Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and several international players.

Following the conclusion of the first stage of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, the top four men's and women's teams will compete at the Hung Vuong Cup from April 3 to 6 in Phu Tho. Later in April, national champions VTV Binh Dien Long An will represent Vietnam at the 2025 AVC Champions League.

With big ambitions for the continental stage, the club has begun assembling a formidable squad. In addition to core stars such as Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa, Kim Thanh, Kim Thoa, Tra My, and Khanh Dang, head coach Thai Quang Lai is also eyeing top outside hitter Bich Tuyen and other international reinforcements.

Should Bich Tuyen and her home club agree to the move, Long An would boast a fearsome attacking duo with Thanh Thuy and Bich Tuyen - two of Vietnam’s most explosive scorers. The club has also reportedly approached Vi Thi Nhu Quynh for a potential loan.

The AVC Champions League will take place from April 20–27 in the Philippines. The two finalists will earn berths at the 2025 FIVB Women’s Club World Championship in December.

Following this tournament, Bich Tuyen is expected to head to South Korea for a trial with a professional team.

Vietnamese clubs have recently made strong showings in this competition. In 2023, Vietnam’s national team - competing as Sport Center 1 - won the championship when the tournament was held in Vietnam. In 2024, Ninh Binh reached the final in Thailand, securing a place at the FIVB World Club Championship.

VTV Binh Dien Long An has previously participated in the AVC tournament four times (2010, 2012, 2018, and 2019), with their best finish being fifth place in 2012.

With plans to bring in top-tier domestic and foreign talent, Coach Thai Quang Lai’s team is aiming to make a serious impact at the continental level in 2025.
