With vibrant events and cultural festivities welcoming the Lunar New Year, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Tay Ninh, and Can Tho are among the most sought-after destinations for travelers exploring southern Vietnam during Tet 2025.

Ho Chi Minh City promises a festive atmosphere with a variety of cultural events.

Highlights include the “Celebrating Spring 2025 - Celebrating the Party” exhibition from January 25 to February 9 at Lam Son Park and other venues like the Youth Cultural House, Labor Cultural Palace, and Women's Cultural House.

The annual Spring Flower Festival and Tet Flower Market at Tao Dan Park will run from January 26 to February 2. Visitors can also enjoy the Tet Book Street Festival and the iconic Nguyen Hue Flower Street, open from 6 p.m. on January 27 to 10 p.m. on February 2.

On New Year’s Eve, activities such as 3D light shows at the People’s Committee Building (January 28) and fireworks displays from midnight to 12:15 a.m. on January 29 will light up the city.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau

Just 120 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau offers a perfect blend of coastal relaxation and cultural festivities.

The mild, sunny weather during Tet makes it ideal for outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy a stroll along Back Beach, explore landmarks like the Christ of Vung Tau statue, the White Palace, and the Vung Tau Lighthouse, or admire the cherry blossoms in full bloom at Nuoc Ngot Pass in Long Hai.

Special activities for Tet 2025 include art performances and three fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve in Sunset Town.

Only a two-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh is a must-visit destination for Tet celebrations.

The iconic Ba Den Mountain is a spiritual and cultural hub, drawing thousands of pilgrims and visitors.
