Binh Thuan provincial authorities have fined 23 Chinese businessmen for illegal collection of dragonfruits in the locality. Ca Mau provincial authorities have stopped the  illegal crab collection by Chinese traders.

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) uses the cell alive system (CAS) and the Japanese advanced technology to preserve farm produce, but provincial authorities know nothing about the technology and farmers continue throwing fruit away.

Dragon fruit (Thanh long) growers in the southern Ninh Thuan province are worried about the continuous fall in prices, although the main harvest will arrive only next month.
