Vietnamese typical dishes during Tet

 The capital city of Hanoi will organise a dragon boat racing festival for the first time from 10:00 to 15:00 on February 24.

 The festival began with a ritual worshipping the guardian deity at the local communal house. A palanquin procession took offerings from the communal house to the Au Co Temple to pray for peace, good weather, prosperity and happiness.

 Many people flock to Chu Van An Temple in Thanh Liet Commune, Thanh Tri District every year to attend the new-year writing festival. 

From the afternoon of the 7th day of the first lunar month (February 22), people flock to Nam Dinh for a unique market which is held only once a year to sell - guess what - bad luck as well as to buy good luck for the year to come.

Following its first successful show in January, Phu Sa Lab will perform Loi Cua Tre (Words from Bamboo) on Sunday.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and local authorities have pledged to join forces to boost the management and organisation of cultural festivities across the country, with the aim to prevent commercialisation and distortion of history. 

The annual love duet singing festival will be organised on February 27 and 28 in Lim town, Noi Due and Lien Bao commune of Tien Du district in the northern province of Bac Ninh.

The festive season in Vietnam has begun with many traditional festivals open on the first days of the Lunar New Year, including Huong Pagoda Festival, Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival, and Giong Festival.

A host of traditional spring festivals have kicked off in different cities and provinces across the country.

 The Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival officially opened in Gia Vien district in the northern province of Ninh Binh on February 21, with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.
