Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh met with Chuichi Date, Speaker of the House of Councillors of the Japanese National Diet, in Tokyo on June 12 as part of his visit to Japan to attend the 24th International Conference on the Future of Asia. 

 The National Assembly convened a plenary session under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on June 12, passing two resolutions and three bills.

 Experts from the Czech Republic have expressed his concerns about the recent militarisation of China in the East Sea while lauding Vietnam’s balanced and open external policy.

The draft Law on Special Administrative-Economic Units of Van Don, Bac Van Phong and Phu Quoc has been a hot topic not only at the on-going fifth session of the 14th National Assembly but also on the mass media during recent days. 

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau held talks in Quebec, Canada, on June 10 (local time), agreeing on measures to step up bilateral ties across fields.

Several MoU on cooperation in different fields were inked between Vietnam and Canada in the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the two countries’ business roundtable in Quebec on June 8.

 Special cases that could lease land up to 99 years for production and business in special economic zones will not be regulated in the draft Law on Special Administrative and Economic Units of Van Don, Bac Van Phong, and Phu Quoc.

 The Government  and the National Assembly Standing Committee have agreed to ask the legislature to delay the adoption of the draft Law on special administrative-economic units to have more time for research and completion.
