The department said that in September, the capital city received 2.16 million visitors, up 6.1% year-on-year. The figure included 510,600 foreigners, a surge of 32% over the same period last year.
The city’s total tourism revenue hit 8.66 trillion VND (351.6 million USD) last month, up 12.8% year-on-year.
In the Jan-Sept period, the capital city served 21.12 million visitors, a rise of 11.7% compared to the same period in 2023, with total revenue estimated at 81.93 trillion VND, up 18.5% year-on-year.
In September, which had a four-day National Day holiday, hotels across the city reported an occupation rate of 64.3%, up 6.73% from the same period last year. Since the beginning of this year, the average rate of local hotels was estimated at 62.6%, a year-on-year rise of 1.6%.
The department said that in the rest of the year, the city will promote new tourism products such as adventure sports tourism, experiential tourism, and virtual reality tourism. In addition, it will develop MICE tourism in locations with advantages in leisure and golf tourism associated with hosting cultural, sports, political, social events, major national and international festivals.
Besides, the department said that it will coordinate with localities and agencies to develop a system of typical rural tourism destinations and agrotourism models, as well as community-based tourism and craft village tourism./. VNA
