Police have confirmed the identities of three people who died in an early morning house fire today in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to a report from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department under the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, the fire broke out at 66B and 66C Mac Van Street, located in Xom Cui Ward, District 8. The blaze claimed the lives of three individuals, while five others managed to escape.

Authorities have identified the deceased as Mr. H.A.D. (born 1979), Ms. L.T.B.T. (born 1998), and her son V.D.K. (born 2019).

Preliminary investigations revealed that the house at 66B, where the fire started, was completely destroyed. The structure consisted of a temporary ground floor space of 12 square meters and a 10-square-meter mezzanine. The house had been divided into three rooms to accommodate family members and contained three motorbikes, one bicycle, and various household items.

The fire also spread to 8 square meters of the mezzanine of the adjacent house at 66C.

In total, the fire affected an estimated 30 square meters of residential space. Both houses were reportedly marked for demolition under a resettlement plan. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities.
