The first session of the 15th National Assembly is scheduled to take place from July 20 to July 31 morning, heard a meeting in Hanoi on July 17.

Committee members have discussed plans for Vietnam’s socio-economic development, its finances, and medium-term public investment for 2021 to 2025 on the second day of the 58th meeting of the 14th tenure of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

A total of 69,198,594 voters are eligible to go to the polls on May 23 to elect deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils of all levels for the 2021-26 tenure.

For Vietnamese citizens, casting votes for National Assembly deputies and members of all-level People’s Councils is a special event, especially for those who exercise their civil rights and obligations for the first time.

All localities across the country have been ready for the general election, an important political event of the country which is slated for May 23, said Bui Van Cuong, General Secretary of the National Assembly and Chairman of the NA Office.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Ethnic Council Nguyen Lam Thanh has said the goal of increasing the rate of ethnic minorities in the 15th legislature from 17.3 percent to 18 percent is likely to be reached.

Given special geographical and job conditions, many constituencies nationwide have been allowed to hold early voting so that their voters can exercise citizens’ rights and responsibilities.
