The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has proposed that the Ministry of Transport consider the gradual reopening of regular international commercial flights in four stages starting in the fourth quarter of this year.

Sixty per cent of companies in HCM City have resumed production since the lockdown was lifted half a month ago.

Twelve checkpoints in the gateways to HCM City will only check vaccination records and will not require a negative COVID-19 test for people traveling to HCM City, except for those coming from "very high-risk" areas.

Some localities that have managed to bring COVID-19 under control have not yet decided when to allow students to return to school, even though the Government asked them to do so this month.

Unvaccinated people and their children can now travel by air provided that they show proof of a negative Covid-19 test result taken within 72 hours before departure or recovered from the disease within the last six months.

Vietnam received only 0.5 percent of travelers from Spain in 2019, although the number of visitors has increased in recent years.

Commenting on the negative growth rate in Q3, Tran Dinh Thien noted that this reflects the real situation of the economy but there is a foundation for a strong recovery in the future.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has devised a plan aimed at resuming domestic flights from October 21 after reopening several domestic air routes on a trial basis from October 10.

In recent days, workers from the Central Highlands provinces are returning to HCMC, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong to continue their jobs because they know that social distancing has been loosened, and businesses have started to resume production.

Localities need to reopen soon to receive travelers from other provinces but they need to develop consistent regulations.

Giving vaccinations is the top priority so that by early 2022 regular international flights can reopen.

Many cities and provinces are reopening hesitantly due to fear of the pandemic as their leaders are very cautious in making decisions because of the pressure of responsibility.

According to the latest dispatch issued by Hanoi Mayor Chu Ngoc Anh, which takes effect from 6am on October 14, Hanoi authorities have allowed restaurants to reopen and serve diners on the spot, up to 50% of their capacity.

The first commercial flights have been provided in the new normal period. However, the application of different regulations in different localities have caused problems.

Coaches transporting travellers between HCM City and other provinces can resume operation from October 13, with passengers required to follow pandemic prevention measures and make online health declarations.
