On April 2, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City released the master plan for the commemorative events, including a military parade and accompanying activities marking 50 years since the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).

According to the plan, the national ceremony will take place from 6:30 a.m. on April 30 along Le Duan Street and other central routes. The event will be broadcast live on national television (VTV), Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), and various local radio and television stations.

The celebration is jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the State President, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and Ho Chi Minh City authorities.

The morning ceremony will feature a 30-minute artistic performance organized by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security.

Leading up to the main event, a series of tributes will be held. On April 29 at 8:00 a.m., floral and incense offerings will take place at the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs’ Cemetery, the City Cemetery, the Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, the Cu Chi District Martyrs’ Cemetery, the City Policy Cemetery, and the national historical site Nga Ba Giong (Hoc Mon District).

Additionally, floral and incense tributes to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang are scheduled. Ho Chi Minh City will also organize gratitude activities for martyr families, national contributors, war veterans, former youth volunteers, and forces that participated in the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising. Other events include a patriotic emulation campaign, a city-level seminar reviewing 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City's development, and a series of activities highlighting 50 years of the city's literature and arts post-reunification.

At noon on April 30, the 37th edition of the HTV Cycling Cup will take place under the theme "The nation united as one." That evening, a fireworks display will light up the city.
