With a majority vote in favor, the National Assembly has elected Le Minh Hoan, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Vu Hong Thanh, Chairman of the Economic Committee, as Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 term.

On February 18, 2025, during its 9th extraordinary session, the National Assembly passed a resolution appointing both officials to their new positions.

Le Minh Hoan was born on January 19, 1961, in My Tra Commune, Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and is an Architect by profession.

A member of the 12th and 13th Central Party Committees, Hoan has had an extensive career in Dong Thap Province, where he held various key positions:

Secretary of Cao Lanh City Party Committee

Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee

Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee (since May 2014)

In January 2016, he was elected as a member of the 12th Central Party Committee, and in January 2021, he continued in the 13th Central Party Committee.

Between October 2020 and April 2021, he served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development before being appointed Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in April 2021.

On February 18, 2025, the National Assembly officially elected him as Vice Chairman.

Vu Hong Thanh was born on April 19, 1962, in Minh Tan Commune, Nam Sach District, Hai Duong Province. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a member of the 12th and 13th Central Party Committees.

Thanh has years of experience in Quang Ninh Province, where he served as:

Director of the Department of Planning and Investment

Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee

Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee

In January 2016, he was elected as a member of the 12th Central Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee. In January 2021, he continued in the 13th Central Party Committee.

Since July 2016, Thanh has been a Standing Member of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Economic Committee.

On February 18, 2025, the National Assembly elected him as Vice Chairman.
