Update news vietnam's craft villages
Established nearly a century ago, the village is now a magnet for tourists, drawing in a plethora of visitors on an annual basis.
South China Morning Post (SCMP) of Hong Kong (China) has published an article highlighting Quang Phu Cau village as a great place to visit as Hanoi’s incense artisans keep a ‘core’ 100-year tradition alive.
Traditional craft villages and rural industries not only create jobs and bring economic value to rural workers, but also are a convergence and crystallisation of historical and cultural values of that land and local people.
The craft village with a tradition of more than 100 years impresses visitors for its space that is filled with vibrant colors such as blue, red, yellow, etc. of beautifully shaped bouquets of incense.
The wooden art piece named "Vinh Quy Bai To" was made by artisans from the carpentry village of Ngoc Than for 27 months and is a work of great value.
If pottery villages now mainly use molds, artisans in the Thanh Ha ancient pottery village in Hoi An city, Quang Nam, have kept their traditional method of making pottery - hand made and wheel thrown.
The past artisans might have not imagined that the vases they made would become special cultural values, which are being hunted and those prices paid equal many years of hard work.
